Modifications: Stretched to 14foot 4inches, chopped and sectioned a total of 27 inches to give an overall height of 1 foot 11 inches. All-steel construction with roll cage incorporated therein. One-piece polished aluminium floor. 6-inch toughened glass windscreen with Perspex side and rear windows. Dual Mini wiper arms operating single 24-inch blade. Dual Britax Sunway sunroofs.

Paint: Porsche Guards Red 2-pack acrylic.


4x2 steel box-section, cross-braced and kicked up at rear

Suspension: (F) 2x2 steel box-section beam axle with 2x1 solid steel uprights. Mini 1275GT ball joints and hubs mounted using 4 rose-jointed radius rods and a Panhard rod for lateral location. 7-inch disc brakes. 300lb 3-inch springs from Rayvern and coil-over shock absorbers from Pete & Jake’s

(R) 1963 Jaguar S-type rebuilt with limited-slip diff. Chromed and polished. Drive-shafts shortened to 6¾ inches. Universal-joint coupling connects diff direct to gearbox. 800lb 4-inch springs from Rayvern and coil-over shock absorbers from Pete & Jake’s

Brakes: (F) Disc (R) Jaguar disc. Modified Mini handbrake. A line-lock has also been fitted for planned future excursions on the quarter-mile drag strip at Santa Pod Raceway!

Steering: Mini rack and pinion. Shortened track rods with rose-jointed ends and custom steering arms. Steering column sleeved with aluminium and incorporating a Morris Marina sliding joint. Home-made 6-inch polished aluminium steering wheel

Wheels/Tyres: (F) Performance Superlite 12x5 with Yokohama 165.60s (R) Performance Superlite 15x7 with Yokohama 195.45s

Hydraulics: Custom system replete with slow-down valves and electronic flow-control valves supplied by Rayvern Hydraulics. Body can be raised 14 inches clear of chassis either from inside or outside the car courtesy of centrally located dual rams to facilitate filling of forward-located, 5-gallon aluminium petrol tank. Front and rear suspension can be raised or lowered independently. Electronic micro switches on each ram sense when there’s 2½ inches of ground clearance and shut off the fluid transfer. A manual override offers a further 1½ inches of travel, making for 4 inches of road clearance at full lift.


Engine: Rover 3.5-litre V8. Fully balanced and lightened. Block over-bored .020. Rover P6 10.25:1 pistons. Cylinder heads gas-flowed, ported and 3-angle valve job carried out. Real Steel Viper Typhoon camshaft. Rhoads Hi-rev lifters and heavy duty springs. Holley 390 carb, high-pressure fuel pump, regulator and pressure gauge. Accel Super Coil. Stock Rover electronic distributor. Dual 12-volt batteries. 1¼-inch block hugger tubular headers bound in heat-resistant tape. Dual cherry-bomb exhaust system mounted beneath drilled aluminium transmission tunnel. Approx. horsepower output … 250bhp.

Cooling system: Rear-mounted Rover SD1 radiator with dual Tripac 1650cfm electric fans

Transmission: Borg-Warner 65 3-speed automatic activated by modified SD1 shifter with custom-made steel-bar linkage.





Modified Bedford Rascal front seats and custom rears, all fitted with Luke 3-point racing harnesses. Smiths Classic Range gauges: speedometer, water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level and ammeter. Auto Meter electronic tachometer. Thorn halon fire extinguisher.


Lights (F) Mini sealed beams (R) Frenched Rubbolite lorry sidelights mounted at roof level to comply height-wise with Vehicle Construction and Use regulations. Pop Brown’s peep mirrors.
